Childnet is committed to helping to educate young people, parents and teachers about how to use the Internet safely and constructively. The Childnet Academy will promote good practice and safety.

This short guide looks at a number of areas and provides useful tips on how to make your website safe and more accessible.

These sections are for information only. However, the judges will not consider sites which contain flagrant abuses of copyright, inappropriate portrayal of children nor sites which are clearly inaccessible for those with special needs.

	Kidsmart

Kidsmart is a practical Internet safety advice website for schools produced by the children's Internet charity Childnet. The site focuses on 5 key SMART Safety Tips which children need to remember when they use the Internet or mobile phone - at school or at home.

Teacher's comment:

The SMART rules have proved to be a powerful way for the children to remember the advice. They now talk about being SMART (and know what they mean!).
