Who are the Academy online mentors?

Ben: Web designer & developer
Ben
is a web designer and developer for a New
Media agency (www.contrapositive.tv). Ben
design's websites and applications using
the latest web technologies, including Flash,
XHTML, and ASP.NET. He also loves his Apple MAC :)

Charlie: Web developer
Charlie is a web developer for a New
Media agency (www.contrapositive.tv).
Charlie develops web applications and data driven websites
for Contrapositive using the
Microsoft .Net Framework (see www.microsoft.com/net).
He is proficient in various programming languages including
C#, VB.Net, and T-SQL. Charlie also regularly uses
SQL server, Access and XML.

Stephen: Teacher & web project manager
Stephen has been working with teams of students creating websites since
1995. Together they have made over 30 websites. Some of these are for
local community groups like Canadian
Aid for Chernobyl. Others have been collaborative projects with
other schools from around the world including Canada, US, Japan, Australia,
Uzbekistan, Italy, France, Argentina and Brazil. NetVision is
an online TV network by and for teens. He would be thrilled to work
with young people in their efforts to create effective, meaningful
and innovative websites. On the technical side he has extensive experience
with Dreamweaver and Flash. He can help with project management, organization
and fostering collaboration.

Oli: Web designer
Oli is 19 years old and, after moving secondary schools as a result
of bullying, has developed a passion for giving his peers a voice.
Oli developed this passion by launching Pupiline.net,
an online community of young people supporting each other, three years
ago. Oli is a previous
winner of the Childnet Awards, winning in the Individual Category in
2001.

Wendy: Web designer
Wendy is a previous winner of the Hong Kong Secondary Schools Website Design
Competition, http://enviro.nicesoda.com (Enviro
Connect) An improved Enviro Connect also won the Champion of the Hong
Kong Cyber Ambassador Awards. The same website also won the commendation
prize from Childnet Awards. Wendy is also environmentally concerned.
She and her team won the Champion prize for devising a public policy
proposal to improve HK's indoor air quality. Wendy was the vice-chairperson
of the Computer Society in her high school, and an intranet support
team member, both of these to societies involve creating websites and
internet related activities. Wendy also enjoys maintaining her personal
site, creating web graphics and is an avid Photoshop and Dreamweaver
user. Wendy is an absolute MAC fan.
