- The Wheel Guide 2 Life - Academy Award Winner 2004 February 2005
The purpose the The Wheel Guide 2 Life is to inform disabled teens on issues that are affecting them such as the law, what choices they have education wise, what benefits are available and things to do in leisure time. There is also the facility to get in touch with the website hosts regarding a particular query about more or less anything to do with the site. The site was created because we felt that the literature provided for disabled teenagers had very obviosly been written by adults - wheelg2life is written for and by disabled teenagers.
Both Zara and myself are now over 18 - and not wanting to be patronising grown ups, have decided it's time to hand over the reigns of the site to someone who is a teenager. We're looking for a disabled teenager (or group of disabled teenagers ) aged 12-17 who has small knowledge of web design and would be willing to update the site as things change. Naturally, Zara and I would always be on hand to help out.
Email the Academy co-ordinator if you are interested in getting involved.
